Been away for too long and the old haunt for better quality big sized clothes (Grace Bros Department Stores) doesn't exist anymore and eventually took on the name of its buyer (Myers.) Unfortunately they don't carry the stuff like I used to know them at the old store so I wander over to the another branded department store, David Jones.
Good to see that my brand of choice is still around (Gloweave) which after shopping at stores have just discovered that their website allows for online buying. Wow!! I guess if you buy enough shirts to actually have a clue what they are and what size they are, you can actually save some time by just buying the thing with the click of a mouse button.
Dude, this would definitely save me some time, but I better get back to the shop to find out what my sizes are. I have found out that although my tummy needs a little tucking, that my real problem is my loud mouth generates a larger neck than normal so most shirts that fit the neck look like I'm in a tent. Never realised that before, which basically means a tailored shirt is preferable once I get a real paying job with real money and all those other necessities of life are cared for.

Unfortunately, David Jones don't carry 48 upwards anymore, which was a near shock for me but that's what happens when you don't patronise the place often enough. K-Mart still carries 48 sizes but not very much in stock so people like me and people like you have to look elsewhere for higher quality clothing than what's available at Lowes. Lowes saves a lot of money by using a lot of polyester fibred clothing and if you've ever worn polyester in a humid Pasifika island then you'll know that the clothing looks good but can get darn near unbearable at times.
Fortunately for us, the salesman at DJ advised a clothing retailer in our area that specialises in fat lards like us. Oooops, big and tall fellas.
The shop is near by here, Bass Hill Plaza, and was a good opportunity to go for a ride and check-out the area. The only other time I'd ever been in the area (apart from driving pass on the highway,) was going to the drive-in cinema. Unfortunately, the night we went over they weren't showing and so we never spent much time there.
The Bass Hill Plaza is actually a pretty neat local mall, and has some offers that are complementary to those on offer at larger malls such as Centrino Bankstown or Chullora Marketplace where we normally frequent. They don't have MacDonalds or KFC so they must have something going for them.
Anyhow, for all you fat lards out there who would like to look at something different from what's available at Lowes, K-Mart or Big W. Visit Hughes Clothing Company at Bass Hill Plaza next time you're around. Seeing as how they do nothing but big lards clothing, they actually are quite helpful and can answer questions on how to make your fat lard look better (or at least colour co-ordinated if they can't help your horror body.)
Note: even though David Jones carried Gloweave they only had up to 46 while Hughes had up to 48 but I ended up going for a 49 with another brand shirt. Now, I can just buy the things online. Geez, the year's a catching on and we're not getting any smaller.
