Whoa.

There went a long week-end. Actually, O4 had friends over on Friday evening so there was a substantial amount of things to do without the computer but I got into a groove and learned a whole lot more about Windows programming.

The 0.6.0.1 release of bTonga includes a number of advancements (i.e. getting buttons to do something instead of just looking ugly)

Insert Additions: (Edit | Insert, Toolbar (Image, HyperLink)

Image Url. Gives you a nice dialog box to detail your image

Image Upload. Gives you a nice dialog box where you can upload your image via the FTP setting in your Accounts | Upload.

Post -> Delete let's you delete the current Post (does not yet clear it properly from the Recent Posts list)

Unavailable (?) menu options are properly greyed out in both the main menu and context menu. Note that some options are permanently disabled until I can get to it. This feature is not yet available for the toolbar.

FTP Connectivity for Image Upload

I've got this working and tested on my test server configuration, so hopefully it works for you all.

Cool Thing

The cool thing about the free Html Control / Editor provided by Nikhil Kothari and Lutz Roeder that we use in this app, is that it handles image sizing for you. Making it look like I actually did it.

There are so many cool things that are available for free, and do the majority of the heavy lifting.

Hopefully this contributes to the pool of 'good' things.

Continued Reminder

Passwords Stored in an Unsecured Manner.

I've put more explantary notes on the password fields to note that password storage is obfuscated (at least the file storage location) but the passwords are not secured in any other manner (for now.)

The two next phases I'm looking at now are:

  • Securing password storage (I've seen source code around that I may probably use)
  • Asynchronous execution of RPC (i.e. bloggerapi and ftp)
