Source and Build Release

Binary(ZIP): bTonga_0_6_5_4.zip

Source(ZIP): bTonga_0_6_5_4src.zip

Sooner or later we had to release the source code to prove that we were going to make this Open Source.

Enhancements:

XMLRPC File Uploads. If the Host supports the metaweblog.NewMediaObject method, then bTonga can upload your file without the need for an FTP connection.

Tested on WordPress 1.5x and WordPress 2.0. Note that WP 1.5 requires the administrator to enable this feature, and in WP 2.0 it is currently broken (patch mentioned elsewhere on this site and will be submitted quickly.)

Of course this means I'll have to take a look at whether this php can be molded into Xaraya.

Better Error/Diagnostic Messages. It may or may not be user-friendly, but I have moved all network communications to a separate form that keeps a running log of what it is trying to do (submitting) and it's completion.

Most errors in communications are displayed with as much detail as possible to help you resolve your problem (e.g. your not connected to the internet yet so you can't post.)

Category View in Accounts Validation. I have added a Category View in Accounts Validation to improve users experience, awareness of the state the account is in.

SubDirectory View in Upload Validation. For FTP Upload configuration, after a user has clicked on Validation / Login, a list of available subdirectories is provided in a tree.

Infrastructure Changes:

Changed the SCM from Monotone to CVS. Wow, this seems the biggest step backwards anyone can think of, except I'm the only one working on this thing and I'll probably push it up to SourceForge or some place like that and CVS seems to be the lowest common denominator.

The key reason for going down was my preferred environments inconsistent behaviour with submitting comments (i.e. sometimes monotone would submit without a comment and other times it would.)

WordPress 2.0

Heard it was out so installed it so I can do some testing, and so far found that for the most part bTonga works well with WP 1.x and WP 2.0x.

Issues are noted elsewhere and I am not sure about a few things (Comments) whether I have them right or wrong.

WP also seems to be supporting three different states for a Post [ Private | Draft | Published ] on their Web Interface, I wonder whether this will translate to an API update ?

The About Box Image is a b/w of marching practise at Queen Salote College the only Girls School in the Kingdom.

In 2005 (while I was out of the country) the girls brass band won the national brass band competition for the 1st time.

My mother, my wife, and a stream of relatives attended this school and God willing our daughter may also attend this school.
