Medical service is provided in the Ha'ateiho Clinic for the morning, and after lunch the service is continued at the Villliage Mission Pharmacy in town.

Ma'ata Ngalo'afe hasn't been feeling well (with her temperature fluctuating from normal, cold, hot) so we took her this noon to visit the Doctor at the Village Mission Clinic in town.

As we've mentioned 'Ana 'Akau'ola's clinic here a couple of times, it's good to be reminded that there's other quality service providers if you need it. The current doctor at the clinic is Mrs Daisy Taufa, wife of Doctor and Pilot Venisi Taufa who retired from Vaiola Hospital but are good friends of 'Ofa (which means if you let them talk they'll find something amiss with their husbands?)

'Ofa doesn't like disturbing the business hours with health matters, but when push comes to shove, we do enjoy the service provided by the Village Mission Clinic and think you should check them out if you have need of medical care in Tonga. Likewise, their pharmacy in town is quite sizeable and often managed by expat pharmacists from New Zealand.

Mission:
A non-government family medical practice and pharmacy in the village of Ha'ateiho, Tonga. This is a semi-rural, developing, small island nation in the South Pacific. Founded in 1984, it was established on Christian principles and out of a desire to serve people in the name of Christ, and this influences the running of the practice. We try to provide high-quality, holistic, primary medical care at as low a cost as possible to the people of Tonga. We work with local government health services but we do not do in-hospital work. The work is currently overseen by the founder from New Zealand.
