TOP$30,000 to fix road damage from rains

In Tonga

Last night's regular news report (radio/tv) mentioned someone at the road authority saying that an out of budget TOP$30,000 will be incurred as a cost to fix damage to major thorough ways by the recent rain.

'Ofa says, if they'd fixed the roads properly in the first place they wouldn't have incurred this cost.

Seems to be right with the new round-a-bout they put up at the Hala Vaha'akolo intersection at QSC/Mala'ekula. That road started deterioriting right after Ministry of works decided they needed to put in a new drainage system. Pot holes were popping up soon after work was 'completed' and people were needing 4-wheel drives just to navigate the round-a-bout.

Knock down another TOP$30,000 as the cost for incompetence.
