I wonder if there's any co-incidence between PacificBlue (a subsidiary(?) of VirginBlue Australia) and the recent announcement by Government to abolish it's one domestic airline policy and to announce opening bids/rfp's for new entrants into the domestic airline service.
Is it also co-incidental that Pacific Blue is likely to request landing rights and transfer of passengers to/from Vava'u?
Anyhooo, Tonga TV News broadcast a bit of PacificBlue's presentation which seems like it was at the Janfull Dateline Hotel which looked very low key but began a push of their message regarding the 'value' proposition of their "Low Fares" service. I think their low fare service can be summed up as, You can have all the frills, Bells and Whistles to greater value than what you get on other airlines, we'll just not put it as part of your ticket price, pay for it when you use it. Otherwise, customers not needing or wanting those services do not have to pay for meals they don't eat, movies they don't watch, and music services they deplore.
According to the broadcast presentation, PacificBlue intends to lower the fares further into their service.
