Tonga, and probably a few of those other poorer nations have some rules and suggestions for hospital stay. They serve the purpose of maximising patient recovery while ensuring safety of hospital services.

If you should need to stay at the hospital, here are the things recommended by the Ministry for you to prepare.

White bedsheets and bed cover
Pillow, and White Pillow Case
Small suitcase/bag of clothes and pajamas
Towel with 2 wash cloths
Toiletries
- Bath Soap
- Toilet Paper
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
Cutlery
- Plate
- Cup and Glass
- Spoon, knife, and fork
Drinking Water
Thermos (for hot water)
Small wash tin
Small battery powered radio

Now there are some specific regulations for hospital stay.

Only one bedside assistant is approved
No children allowed in the wards
No mats or brooms (taufale)
No large bed covers
No wall powered electrical appliances (e.g. teapot, fan)

Visiting Hours for Vaiola Hospital are:

Mid-day: 2:30 ~ 3:30pm

Afternoon: 7:30 ~ 8:30pm
