It seems that Tony Fakahau might be back onboard at the Revenue Services Department's, Reform Information Office or RIO because all of a sudden the articles on the http://www.tonga-now.to seem more 'fleshed out' filled with more content. Either that, or the recent debacle with the Public Servants Association, PSA, was just too much fodder to be resisted.
Key improvements to the site include separate pages for news articles, which essentially means that we can refer you to a specific story and have a better idea that clicking on our link will take you to that story. Our previous experience was to link you to the front page and things would eventually scroll away as new stories replaced old ones. Not a very satisfactory situation for a website.
Broken at the moment (i.e. sub-optimal decision) is that the http://www.tonga-now.to frontpage provides a summary for only the 'leading' story, and the rest of the news stories only get their titles mentioned. Quite a cryptic situation. Strange, since the only function of clicking on the "view the latest news headlines" is to give you a one or two sentence leader for each of the news stories. For the five additional "Recent News" items listed on the frontpage it seems absurd that they do not include the leader liners that you have to click on another link to get.
A significant improvement to the linkable, Googleable, searchable, value of the website/service.
Best of luck Tony and guys.
