Enhancements

MetaWeblog API, MSN Spaces Support

Tested support for MetaWeblog APIs and MSN Spaces. See it work @ http://spaces.msn.com/tonga/

Testing of MetaWeblog APIs on Xaraya and WordPress 2.x.

YES, you can blog with bTonga on MSN Spaces. When MSN Spaces slows to watching paint dry, use bTonga to get your message across faster (at least getting it up and down will be a whole lot faster than waiting for the web page(s) to come down.)

Bug Fixes

Quite a few, but I don't have a proper list, just glad to get support for MSN Spaces and MetaWeblog API stable (I hope.) There were a lot of bugs introduced with the introduction of support for the above APIs (and supposedly BloggerAPI but I'm not sure where to test that.)

Ignore leading non-xml responses. Some responses from sites often contained non-xml wrapped content (i.e. debug error messages from the system.) These are now ignored and processing begins with the 1st valid <?xml statement. Note, we 1st attempt a normal XmlDocument.LoadXML.

The above issue was a major show stopper for the past two weeks as it involves a very messy solution of getting the response from the stream into a string, attempting to load the string into the XmlDocument. On failure, check if an "<?xml" is defined and if so suck from there.

Notes

Atom API. Took a look at this API and it seems a whole lot more complicated from this apps point of view, but since there aren't any reference implementations to test against (read: I don't have a server running it, or have access to such a beast.)

No Source Release. The source code is currently really ugly, so if you want it, ask for it, otherwise I'll have to clean it up and hopefully have it consumable for the next release of bTonga.

Skipped 0.6.9.5. One sub-version number was skipped because it was supposed to be the testing version for the API updates and it worked, until I tried using categories and then I had to go back to the drawing board for quite a while. It's broken, real broken, and didn't even get tagged in the source tree.

Html Text Formatting. The library code for doing this in the controls currently fails (i.e. decides to kill the app) when it recieves something that it knows shouldn't be there. I will review these and choose whether to quietly ignore some of the issues.
