I've been playing with a multi-lingual, lea fakatonga, lea fakapalangi test website over at http://www.tbu.to and there obviously some nice things we're learning.
The test site, http://www.tbu.to is running Plone and LinguaPlone, which allows us to create a website that has content in either palangi pe faka-tonga. You see a Great Britain and Tonga flag on each page that lets you browse to the language you wish to use.

While I'm testing, I'll keep the articles updating. This let's me see how simple/complicated the whole translation process is (and considering that I'm just going to download mostly pre-translated content this should not be too difficult.)
It really isn't that difficult, all that's needed is some graphics people and some CSS / Html / Interface guys to make the thing unique/corporate and then you are up and running. I may some day try out the Joomla solution, but that will have to wait for another free swab of days.
