Macintosh - Making Tongan Keyboard Entry easier

It may be possible, using Option + keys, to get Tongan letters on a Mac keyboard. Unfortunately, they tend to look like something else by the time they are read inside Windows:

  • Option + ] should be fakau’a :
  • Option + u + (any vowel) should be dieresis (used for macron or toloi ): , , , ,
  • Option + e + (any vowel) should be acccent mark: , , , ,

(Note: the Option key must be held down while ], u, or e is typed, but released before the affected vowel is typed. Yes, it’s a real pain in the neck, hands, and other parts of the body.)
